On Yom Kippur, the highest Jewish holiday, a right-wing extremist tries to break into the synagogue in Halle to cause a bloodbath. When this fails, he murders two people outside the synagogue. One of them is Kevin. While the public watches as the perpetrator is put on trial, his father Karsten struggles to come to terms with his grief. He has nothing to do with the political battles that others are waging in the wake of the attack. He finds support in the fan scene of Hallescher FC, a traditional East German club that was also Kevin's home.
The film is part of the trilogy "EINZELTÄTER", which is dedicated to people who lost loved ones in the right-wing extremist attacks in Munich 2016, Halle 2019 and Hanau 2020.
